The Russian movie director Yuri Grymov has finished the shooting of a new movie Strangers about relations between people of different nationalities and religions.

Moscow, 13th November. Anna Tatarinova ITAR TASS Correspondent/. Yuri Grymov has finished the shooting of a new feature film called Strangers which action is taking place in the Arab East. The shooting was in Morocco and Egypt where the famous Russian movie director has just returned from. He started the cutting of the movie.

"I'd like to make a movie on sharp modern themes, to dwell on some important problems, that many people me including are concerned about today', said Yuri Grymov to ITAR-TASS correspondent in today interview. According to his words, first of all it is relations between people of different nationalities with their own laws and traditions, practicing different religions. Genre of the movie he determined as "drama with action elements". Yuri Grymov worked on the script of the movie together with Alexander Remnev.

The action is taking place in one of Arab country, in international conflict zone in our days. A charity organization from the USA has sent a group of five doctors with a noble mission to make examination and vaccination of children living there. But the fate has prepared such trails for those doctors that they had to risk not only their career but their lives.

The movie makers tried to show how the nature, temper, convictions in one word - mentality, mood of the society those people were living in were exposed in such extreme circumstances. "The movie characters - are the representatives of relatively young American nationality, due to our intention. Some of them position themselves above other peoples, impose their moral, their rules to them. We would like to remind that it is important to treat with care customs and traditions of other peoples, respect them', - underlined the director of the movie.

He pointed out that he would like to make the movie "at most realistic and at most frank". Exterior shooting were held in very arduous conditions, including desert, where the temperature was about 40 sometimes. "During our work we have learnt and realized a lot as about ourselves as about the Americans and the Arabs". Grymov said.

In the movie the American actors Scarlett McAlister, Mark Adam, Neil Stewart, Kathleen Gati, Jeff Grays, Russian actors Victor Bichkov, Alexey Poluyan and others were playing.

The Strangers is Yuri Grymov fifth film. At the beginning of his work in cinematography he stood fine as a clip maker, he has made more than 200 reels, which won many prizes on international festivals of commercials. As a film director he made his debut with a short film Male Revelations, and the vivid interest and the viewers liking came to him after the author screen adaptation of Turgenev novel Mumu. Them Grymov made philosophic parable The Collector and serial Kukotzkiy Cazus based on Ludmila Ulizkaya book, which had a great success.
